Area description
The charming residential suburb of Claremont is situated about 15 minutes drive from central Cape Town in the affluent southern suburbs of the City. Many of the properties here enjoy good sized gardens and excellent views of Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak which rise up over the suburb.
There are lovely walking trails nearby in Newlands Forest on the lower slopes of Table Mountain, a perfect place to exercise in the shade on a hot summer’s day and there are also some excellent local restaurants and shops including the 250 or so stores in one of Cape Town’s best and largest shopping centres, Cavendish Square.
An excellent location for sports fans, with both the legendary Newlands rugby and cricket stadiums based here, Claremont is also well based for enjoying the many attractions of Cape Town as well as heading off down the nearby freeway to spend the day exploring the beautiful beaches and mountains of the Cape Peninsula.
