1 Zolani Mahola – Rok & Rol (December 29)

Oude Libertas Amphitheatre in Stellenbosch is hosting the contemporary music performance called Rok & Rol this Saturday. One of the most popular female stars from the country, Zolani Mahola together with Schalk Joubert, Albert Frost, and Kevin Gibson are here to praise International female artists including Nina Simone and Janis Joplin. Tickets to this event will set you back R220 per person and the show starts at 8 15 pm.

2 Picnic on Fire (December 29)

There is no shortage of cool events in Cape Town this weekend and Picnic on Fire is definitely one of them. Organized by the Psychedelic Theatre, this hour-long show features everything from interactive performances and light shows to fire breathers and dances with burning hula-hoops. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnic baskets and drinks and secure parking is available on-site. The entrance to this event costs R100 per person.

3 New Silo Market @ V&A Waterfront (December 29)

Held on the last Saturday of every month, the New Silo Market at the V&A Waterfront is one of the best events in South Africa’s Mother City this weekend. Expect to find many young start-up companies selling their innovative products, as well as numerous local performers who are here to entertain the crowds. The entrance to the market is free of charge.

4 Lira @ Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts (December 30)

Lira is an award-winning Afro-soul singer from South Africa and one of the best vocalists in the country. She has dozens of platinum-selling albums and was the first African artists to release an official full HD DVD in Blu Ray 3 x Platinum back in 2009. Before she leaves for her US tour, Lira is playing a concert right here in Cape Town as a part of the Kirstenbosch Gardens Summer Sunset Concerts. Gates to the concert area open at 4 pm and visitors can bring their own picnic baskets and blankets. 5 Black Coffee @ Shimmy Beach Club (December 30)

Head out to the Shimmy Beach Club and see the performance by one of the most popular DJs in South Africa, the one and only Black Coffee.  He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry and was also awarded the 2017’s DJ Awards “Best House DJ”. The tickets to the show range from R250 TO R350.
