Hoerikwagga Trail

Kommetjie, meaning ‘little basin’ in Afrikaans is appropriately named as the rural village surrounds a small, natural, rocky inlet that resembles a basin. Situated along the West Coast of the Cape Peninsula, Kommetjie is made up of a population of 3000 and exudes a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere.

Kommetjie is ideal for camping getaways and offers a variety of outdoor activities.

Kommetjie and the surrounding areas have proven to be very popular surf spots, attracting many local and international surfers due to its year- round supply of waves of all shapes and sizes.

Cycling and mountain biking is also very popular in the area. Every year, the famous Pick n Pay Argus Cycle Tour passes through the town.

Other activities and attractions include crayfishing and fishing, birdwatching, diving and the Slangkop Lighthouse.
