Camps Bay
Cape Town really is the jewel in the crown of South Africa’s holiday destinations. Stunning scenery, turquoise blue waters, soft white sand beaches, safari animals and history; at every turn something to new to see, to discover, to wonder at.
Overseeing everything, like a benign uncle, is the magnificence of Table Mountain. One of my favourite spots, tucked into the sheltering side of the mountain, is Camps Bay, not least because of the glorious beaches and huge expanse of blue skies.
7 minutes from the centre of Cape Town itself, this trendy suburb has a village feel to it, with a wide range of restaurants and beach cafes to suit every taste; accommodation including apartments, guest houses, hotels and villas.
The palm tree fringed beach is ideal for families, couples, even surfers and with blue flag status, ensures your day at the beach is top quality.
A number of excellent shops offer the visitor boutique shopping – a pleasant occupation away from the hustle and bustle of the main city streets.
One of the choice apartments in Camps Bay is Cloud Nine with its fifth floor views across the beach making it seem as if your holiday home is floating on the great blue yonder.

One other most important thing I want to tell you about here in Camps Bay are the sunsets. Facing directly into the setting sun, your view will turn into the most amazing orange colour whilst the huge golden orb of the sun drops into the ocean. The story told, is that a flash of vivid green is visible, as if of steam rising, the moment the sun touches the sea.
