Cape Town's best sundowner spots

Milder weather is starting to set in as we see out the summer in our fairest city. If we believe what we’re told this year’s winter is going to be long, cold, wet and ferocious, so what better way to enjoy the last of the best of Cape’s sunny summer days than to be sipping cocktails on a beach, a balcony overlooking the stunning views of the city or at one of Cape Town’s favourite sundowner spots?

Here are a few of our favourites…

The Polana – Quintessentially Cape Town, the Polana restaurant in Kalk Bay is literally built on the rocks. The restaurant’s cocktail section invites you to sit on a cushioned window-sill watching the waves lapping at the rocks while sipping an something sinful and colourful!

Tobago’s Bar & Terrace – Fancy something a bit more bespoke, the Radisson Hotel’s popular bar is definitely the place for you. Voted the “best seaside bar” by Conde Nast, here you can a sundowner overlooking the edge of the ocean next to a rim-flow pool.

Sandbar – Aptly named, this bar is literally a stone’s throw from the beach. A favourite chill-out spot for locals, with beautiful views of Camps Bay beach, enjoy the cosmopolitan wave that flows through this part of town as you sip a cocktail and watch the sun sink beneath the waves.

“Exotic” and “indulgent” doesn’t have to be far away, if you just know where to go!
