Head out to the Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay this Friday to find over 80 stall traders selling everything from soft furnishings and vintage clothing to wellness goods and handmade jewelry. This amazing night market is also well-known for its variety of fresh food ranging from Tunisian falafels and sushi to Mexican cuisine, Cape Malay curries, and pancakes. If you wish to dance the night away, there are live music performances at the Bay Harbour Marker each Friday. For an unforgettable night out in the city, this is probably one of the best events in Cape Town this weekend.

2 Taste the Helderberg (June 8)

Wine enthusiast will have an opportunity to taste the latest wine releases and some of the best wine from the region during the Taste the Helderberg event this Friday. In addition to the wine-sampling, this year you can look forward to the food theatre and try some tasty South African specialties. One of the most anticipated events in Cape Town this weekend is a live music performance of Ben Dey and the Concrete Lions at Café Roux. This afro-indie pop rock band uses a variety of commercial metaphors in their lyrics to express their views of political, subversive socio, and environmental themes. Café Roux in Cape Town is known to support local musicians and comedians, as well as up-and-coming bands in a personal and intimate setting. 4 Hermanus Fynarts (June 8 – June 17)

Hermanus Fynarts is a 10-day celebration of food, art, music and wine. This is the sixth edition of the festival and includes a wide range of events including demonstrations, exhibitions, recitals, shows, workshops, and much more. The leading baroque orchestra from South Africa Camerata Tinta Barocca will be the opening act at the festival this Friday. Some of the highlights for this year include a series of photography workshops, cooking demonstrations by Gregory Czarnecki, and an exhibition of new works by Kate Gottgens.
