Welcome To The Charles

Perfectly positioned in the heart of De Waterkant Village, The Charles is an intimate and charming Guest House.
Inspired by traditional European City boutique hotels, The Charles has 11 rooms, 3 duplex cottages and a quaint cafe serving some of the best coffee and breakfast in the city.
Our guests enjoy exclusive use of the roof decks overlooking the city as well as access to the tours and adventures desk to ensure you make the most of your stay.

Tucked between Table Mountain, the CBD and the V&A Waterfront, De Waterkant Village, home to The Charles, borders the Cape Town Fan Mile and is within walking distance to Cape Town Stadium.

De Waterkant is often described as being arty, charismatic and quaint and is a truly special place decorated with gorgeous al fresco restaurants, sidewalk café’s, boutiques and bars and is often compared with Greenwich Village.

Guests are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy our location form our rooftop terrace that boasts incredible city views, that sweep all the way down to the V&A Waterfront and across to Table Mountain.

Originally created by adjoining three adjacent historical houses, the multi-leveled layout of The Charles is linked by inner and outer staircases.
