Morukuru Beach Lodge is an intimate five-suite eco-lodge set along the pristine coastline of De Hoop Nature Reserve. Part of Relais & Châteaux, the lodge combines sophisticated luxury with an extraordinary wilderness setting, offering couples and families the opportunity to experience one of South Africa’s most beautiful coastal reserves.
With just five suites – one Honeymoon Suite, two Ocean View Suites and two Ocean View Family Suites – the atmosphere is intimate and relaxed. The beach is only a short walk away, placing guests within easy reach of the reserve’s spectacular shoreline.
Between July and October, this stretch of coastline becomes particularly special, offering exceptional opportunities for land-based whale watching. Beyond whale season, guests can explore the reserve through guided nature drives, fynbos walks and marine walks, or enjoy mountain biking, sandboarding, snorkelling and swimming in protected rock pools at low tide.
The lodge operates completely off-grid, with solar power supplemented by a backup generator when required.
