The cottage was extensively renovated in 2019 and features high-quality finishes, designer furnishings and contemporary artwork curated by August House Studio. Natural light fills the interiors, while air-conditioning, WiFi and Netflix provide the modern comforts needed for an easy Cape Town stay.

One of the property’s standout features is its private outdoor patio oasis and traditional South African KolKol wood-fired hot tub. Unlike a conventional electric jacuzzi, the KolKol is heated using a wood fire, creating a wonderfully atmospheric way to relax outdoors after a day exploring the city. One complimentary bag of firewood is provided for your first heating.

With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the cottage is a comfortable choice for two couples, friends or a small family. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the entire property throughout their stay.

De Waterkant Getaway is a renovated two-bedroom, two-bathroom historic cottage situated in the heart of De Waterkant.

Completed in December 2019, the renovation introduced contemporary finishes and designer furnishings while retaining the appeal of staying in one of the neighbourhood’s characterful cottages. Carefully selected artwork curated by August House Studio adds an individual design element throughout the home.

The interiors receive plenty of natural light and are equipped with air-conditioning, WiFi and Netflix. Guests have complete and exclusive access to the cottage during their stay.

Outside, a private patio provides a secluded space away from the surrounding city. The highlight is a KolKol wood-fired hot tub, a traditional South African-style outdoor tub heated by burning wood rather than electricity. One complimentary bag of firewood is supplied, with additional firewood available for purchase from nearby shops.

The KolKol is cleaned regularly and again on scheduled arrival days. For same-day bookings, it may not always be possible to arrange cleaning before check-in, in which case cleaning can be arranged the following day.

For stays longer than one week, a complimentary mid-stay clean is included. Additional cleaning and linen services can also be arranged at an extra cost.
