1 December 2016 – Art Thursday in Obs

Explore the boho suburb of Obs on Thursday evening between 18h30 and 21h00, as you meet local artists, watch a documentary screening and enjoy discounted prices at local bars and restaurants. Most of the action takes place around Trenchtown on Station Road. While entry is free, restaurant and bars will be open as usual so be sure to bring cash.

1 – 4 December 2016 – Cape Town International Dance Festival

Kicking off with a free event at the South African National Museum on 1 December, the Cape Town International Dance Festival will offer a number of events taking place across the city. Venues include Centre for the Book, NY144, Gugulethu and Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, Stellenbosch. Over the course of the festival, you will be able to watch performances by dancers from all over the globe, including Cape Town, Kuruman, Durban, Johannesburg, US, Austria and the Netherlands.

1 – 11 December 2016 – Armchair Comedy Festival

Featuring over 20 comedians, with 14 shows, the Armchair Comedy Festival is sure to get your festive season off to the right start. On the mic will be legends such as Riaad Moosa, Nik Rabinowitz, Conrad Koch, Stuart Taylor, KG Mokgadi, Yaaseen Barnes, Dalin Oliver, Dylan Skews, Rob Van Vuuren and others. There’s also an open mic night on 3 December.

2 December 2016 – Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert: Dan Patlansky

Blues rock guitarist, Dan Patlansky, will be taking to the outdoor stage as part of the annual Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts Series. Take a picnic, get a few friends together, bring a blanket and relax under the stars as you watch the sun go down while listening to the soulful sounds of blues. 2 December 2016 – 8 January 2017 – Canal Walk’s Ice Adventure

It may be sweltering outside, but you and the kids can stay cool at the incredible Ice Adventure! Here, you will have the chance to see animals of the Ice Age, experience ice slides and play in the snow zone. Temperatures will reach freezing, recreating the Ice Age experience even further. Ice Adventure will be open daily from 10h00 until 22h00, with 45 minute sessions running every hour on the hour.

Indulge your senses at the Cape’s finest MCC festival. 4 December 2016 – Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert: Beatenberg/Opposite The Other

Join Indie band Beanberg along with Opposite The Other for a memorable concert under the stars. Like all Kirstenbosch Concerts, you can take along a picnic and enjoy the warm summer evening as you listen to leading local and international music acts. 6 December 2016 – Community Chest Twilight Run/Walk

The annual Twilight Run is all in the name of charity. Teams dress up according to various themes, with many companies taking part. Even if you are not competing in the race, the atmosphere in the City Centre is always amazing. Stop by and watch the teams come by at various points along the route. There’s also an after party on the Grand Parade.

8 December 2016 – Secret Sunrise Summer Swing
